Deep and Wide: Living into God's Amazing Grace

A Weekend Study Series

Led by Dr. Cynthia Rigby

May 16-18, 2008

The Topic

As Christian believers, we claim that we are saved "by grace alone."  But what does that mean for us, in our daily lives of faith?  We will explore what is at stake for us in participating in the grace of God.

The Weekend Schedule

Friday, May 16, 7:00 - 8:30 pm

"Contemplating the Water: the Risk of Grace"

Saturday, May 17, 9:00 am - 2:30 pm

"Diving In: the Cost of Grace"

     "Surfacing: the Promise of Grace"

     "Swimming: the Practice of Grace"

Sunday, May 18, 10:55 am

Dr. Rigby will preach at morning worship

The Speaker

Dr. Cynthia Rigby, pictured on the right, is W.C. Brown Professor of Theology at Austin Presbyterian Theological Seminary.  In the Dallas Morning News, William McKenzie cited Dr. Rigby as one of a few contemporary theologians who can "span the gap between church and society.  Attention to theology, politics and sociology allows these thinkers to shape the world, not just follow in its wake."
