Youth Mission Trip

June 15-26

Eleven members of our Youth Group traveled to Nicaragua June 15-26th. Dan and Jenn Frayer-Griggs and Sara and Chris Berg were guides and chaperones; Sara is a native of Nicaragua. The young people spent much of the past year learning about the country.

The group observed some important projects that help the people of Nicaragua, including Jubilee House and Cafe Chevalos.

They worked at a coffee cooperative called El Porvenir for five days.  To raise money for their trip, the young people packaged and sold Nicaraguan coffee this year — to the delight of Sixth Church coffee drinkers!

Other fundraising activities in the church will provide aid to the cooperative -- including paying for a second teacher for this small community.
