Christian Education

Sunday:

    All classes are on summer hiatus.  They will resume on September 14.


    Children's Church School

    Nursery; Good care and curriculum for 4-year olds and K; grades 1 and 2; 3, 4, and 5; middle school; senior high. Extended care for children below fourth grade through Worship.


    Adult Classes

    The Seekers class asks hard questions about our faith and how we live it out.  Meets in the parlor.

    Bible study class does close reading from Hebrew and Greek texts in order to examine issues of the faith. Meets in the Chapel.


    Following the service:

    Young Adults Bible Study. The group gets together on a regular basis for study and a light lunch.

Other:

    Confirmation: Confirmation is the process by which our youth in grades 8 through 12 become members of the church. Confirmation is generally held every other year. The process incorporates elements of service, worship, leadership and education over a four-to-five-month period, culminating in the youth joining the church, usually in the late spring.

    Vacation Bible School. A short-term early summer program for fun, games, and learning. 

    Presbyterian Women. Monthly Bible Study combined with fellowship over lunch. Second Wednesday of the month, 11:00 a.m. September through June.

    Saturday Circle. A women's study group that considers the Church in the world and the cultures of many countries. Brown bag lunch. Third Saturday of the month, 11:00 a.m. except January, July, August.

    Men's Bible Study with bagels and coffee. Every second Tuesday, 7:30 a.m.

    The Women's Weekend in September, the Men's in March, Family weekends and others, all at Camp Crestfield, have an educational component.

    The Fred Rogers Memorial Lecture Fund provides for annual lectures, often in collaboration with other congregations, schools, and seminaries, that bring in notable speakers. In the past they have included John Dominic Crossan, Amy Jo Levine, James Carroll, and Marcus Borg.
