WHO WE ARE

Session

While we all have gifts for ministry, Elders are elected by the people to exercise leadership and, together with the minister, have responsibility for the life of the congregation, as well as the church at large and ecumenical relationships. Elders make up the Session. They are called to strengthen and nurture the faith and life of the congregation, and with the pastor, to encourage the people in the worship and service of God through study, fellowship and mission. They visit and care for people, and have oversight of the care of buildings and grounds. As a connectional, relational church, we elect elders to participate in Pittsburgh Presbytery, which is the decision making body of the denomination's churches in Allegheny County.

Session is also the Board of Trustees under the laws of the Commonwealth.
