A joyful, spirit-filled community like Sixth Church doesn't just happen. It asks countless hours of effort. Members, friends and staff plan the services, rehearse the music, organize events, maintain our property, and work to improve and enrich life in the community. One of the most joyful things you can do at Sixth is to give your time and talents to our church, knowing that you play a part in producing the happiness that you experience each Sunday and during the week.

An equally profound joy comes from knowing that you are providing financial support to sustain and grow all that you care about at Sixth. For many of us, the joy of giving does not come easily. We tend to think of our personal finances as separate from our lives in the church. Left to our own devices, we'd like to imagine that there is a mystical source of money for churches and that we can just come and drink what they have to offer. But as we grow in our understanding of the teachings of Jesus, we begin to realize that when we commit ourselves through our offerings, we are speaking the language of love as Jesus called us to do.

In good times and bad, the members of Sixth have generously supported their congregation because they have understood that speaking the language of Jesus' love is a source of great joy. At Sixth that love is expressed in many ways, but its foundation is the love we express when we contribute our time, talents, and money to this inclusive community of believers.
