CROP Hunger Walk 2014

CROP Hunger Walk logoIf autumn is here, it is surely time for the CROP Walk!

On Sunday, October 12, Sixth Church will join with other communities in the East End to participate in the CROP Hunger Walk. This year the walk called “Pittsburgh East” will celebrate its 37th year of walking to end hunger one step at a time.

The CROP Hunger Walk is sponsored by Church World Service. During the past 36 years, the Pittsburgh East walk has raised more than $300,000 to fund anti-hunger and development projects around our city and around our world. 25% of what we raise is returned as grants to the food programs of East End Cooperative Ministries and Wilkinsburg Community Ministry. 75% goes to the hunger and refugee services of Church World Service.

None of us could do this alone; it is truly an effort which embraces the small contributions of many people. Each year about 20 people from Sixth Church participate. Will you join us this year? The walk will include options for those people unable to walk the full six miles. In other words, you can choose your own personal challenge.

You can sponsor our team or an individual walker either in person or with a secure donation on line.
