Broad Street Ministries, Philadelphia
Four amazing young women from Sixth Church participated on a mission trip to Philadelphia in June. We participated in the Youth Initiative summer program hosted by Broad Street Ministries, a worshiping community located in the heart of the city center. We spent the week volunteering throughout the city at the following organizations: Mill Creek Urban Farm, Philabundance (food Pantry and collection warehouse), Manna (which prepares and delivers meals to those homebound with terminal illness), Books Through Bars (which answers letters and send books to those incarcerated in area prisons), and Breaking Bread (which is a program at Broad Street where they serve meals six times a week.)
Students who participated were Anne Ward, Glenna Van Dyke, Emma Bisello and Hanna Pistorius.
