Women’s Weekend at Camp Crestfield is September 23-25, 2016!

CrestfieldWomen

Our 30th Annual Women’s retreat at Camp Crestfield will be the last weekend in September.

This year our Retreat Leader will be Rev. Heather Schoenewolf, Associate Pastor of Educational Ministries at East Liberty Presbyterian Church. The topic of this retreat will be “Ordinary Resurrections- encountering the risen Christ in our everyday lives.”

Many women from the church are familiar with this retreat as we average 30-40 women a year. We would love to have new people join us!

CrestfieldSignCamp Crestfield is the Presbyterian Church camp in Slippery Rock, PA. It is about an hour drive from Pittsburgh. We stay in the lodge where there are 2 or 3 beds to a room. All of our meals are served in the dining room. Although we do not have children at this retreat, we welcome babies who are not walking yet to come and stay in the room with their mom.

We arrive at Camp Crestfield Friday evening. We take some time to get to know each other a little better and introduce the topic.

On Saturday morning, we start our session with our Retreat leader. After lunch, we have free time to walk, take a nap or just relax. If the weather is nice, some people go canoeing. Later in the afternoon, we usually have a craft project to make if you want to participate. Late afternoon or after dinner, there may be another short session with Heather or we may watch a movie, play cards or just talk. We often go on a hay ride also.

On Sunday morning we will have a Worship service. This is often held outside. It is a wonderful time of worshiping in nature and sharing with each other. The service always ends with Communion. We will be leaving right after the service.

It is such a wonderful way to have a chance to relax, renew ourselves and get to know the wonderful women from Sixth church. I hope if you are new to the church or have never come before, you might consider joining us this year. Save the dates – registration details are coming soon!
